Students and faculty use it to access and manage online courses and to communicate about course content, assignments, exams, and more. That\u2019s how easy it is to take MHPC OTA online hybrid courses. Instructors cover the same content as in on-campus classes; the only difference is that you do the work using a computer and the internet without coming to campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take courses both online and on campus to complete OTA degree requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access course syllabi and information, post comments and turn in assignments from anywhere you have access to a computer and the internet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect directly with online instructors and advisors when you have questions or concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access MHPC OTA Ready, our student orientation module, at your convenience and as often as you want<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hybrid Definition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Classes combine classroom and online coursework and typically meet only once a week on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re planning to enroll in MHPC OTA program, you\u2019ll need regular access to a computer with internet access. The following suggested and required computer standards can help you avoid some common technical problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internet Access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DSL, cable or higher bandwidth is required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have dial-up (56K or less for bandwidth), you may need to use the computers at a local library or in one of MHPC OTA Program home campuses computer labs to download large documents required by some OTA courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hardware<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Windows with Pentium I5 or equivalent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Macintosh I3 or higher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IOS or Android tablets with Wi-Fi or 3G+<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 GB or higher recommended<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor resolution of 1024 \u00d7 768 or higher recommended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Software<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Macintosh with OS X 10.5 or higher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browser and plugin support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cookies- and JavaScript-enabled browsers required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Java \u2013 most recent version<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pop-up blockers disabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft Word\/Office is suggested for most courses and required for others; review each course syllabus for specific course requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adobe Acrobat Reader \u2013 both the reader and browser plugins are free<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security software \u2013 Keep all your definitions for both spyware and virus software updated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MHPC uses Canvas, a web-based learning management system (LMS).
