{"id":161,"date":"2016-11-18T16:32:44","date_gmt":"2016-11-18T16:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/board-policies\/?page_id=161"},"modified":"2025-01-14T14:56:03","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T14:56:03","slug":"certificate-programs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/board-policies\/instruction\/certificate-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"2.3 Certificate Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>(<em>Adopted 6-14-2021<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Certificate of Specialization and the Certificate of Achievement are awarded to students completing the established requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Procedures <\/strong><em>(Adopted 6-14-2021; Revised 4-11-2024)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.1<\/strong>&nbsp; Credit hours required for the Certification of Specialization vary by program.&nbsp; A Certificate of Achievement requires at least 30 credit hours of coursework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.2<\/strong>&nbsp; Each certificate is earned after completing the requirements stated in the student\u2019s assigned catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.3<\/strong>&nbsp; Through the Curriculum Committee, procedures have been developed to allow for curriculum revisions that may apply to the Certificate of Specialization and Certificate of Achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.4<\/strong>&nbsp; Certificate requirements are subject to approval by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development and the Higher Learning Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.5<\/strong>&nbsp; In order for a certificate to be awarded, a minimum of nine (9) hours must be completed in residence.&nbsp; An institutional grade point average of 2.00 is required for graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.3.6<\/strong>&nbsp; The student must hold a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate to be awarded a Certificate of Specialization or a Certificate of Achievement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Adopted 6-14-2021) The Certificate of Specialization and the Certificate of Achievement are awarded to students completing the established requirements.
