{"id":44,"date":"2016-11-16T20:53:34","date_gmt":"2016-11-16T20:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/board-policies\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2025-01-13T21:21:55","modified_gmt":"2025-01-13T21:21:55","slug":"authority-and-responsibilities-of-the-board-of-trustees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/board-policies\/organization-of-the-college\/authority-and-responsibilities-of-the-board-of-trustees\/","title":{"rendered":"1.3 Authority and Responsibilities of the Board of Trustees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>(Adopted 6-6-1988; Revised 11-12-2007)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Trustees of the Junior College District of East Central Missouri is the sole statutory legislative governing body responsible for the control and operation of 91ԭƬ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Procedures <\/strong><em>(Revised 3-8-2021, 6-11-2023)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.3.1&nbsp; &nbsp;The statutory responsibilities of the Board of Trustees include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approve the appointment, retention, and dismissal of employees of the College, define and assign their powers and duties, and fix their compensation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Levy such taxes as are required for the operation of the College.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish tuition and fees for students in the amount necessary to maintain College courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide instructional programs and services and physical facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approve all contracts unless delegated to the College President for approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adopt and oversee disciplinary policy regarding students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comply with all applicable federal, state and local mandates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Adopted 6-6-1988; Revised 11-12-2007) The Board of Trustees of the Junior College District of East Central Missouri is the sole statutory legislative governing body responsible for the control and operation of 91ԭƬ.
