3M’s Basics: MUDA, MURA, & MURI Overview

Training topics include: Waste is money lost in any business or organization, whether it is scrap, overproduction, reprocessing, or any other activity that does not provide value to the business and ultimately their customer. This class helps provide an understanding of the 8 Wastes defined and developed as industry standards for opportunities for improvement for all business applications. Through a variety of practical sessions and interactive exercises, this training aims to provide employees with an understanding of the Wastes and how to focus on reducing these wastes within the organization to improve the bottom line for the company.

4 Quadrant – Urgent vs Important Basix

Training topics include: A How to Interactive Class focusing on prioritizing activities for everyone’s busy schedule. The class helps develop techniques to provide all employee’s with a better evaluation of what tasks throughout their day are critical and important versus what activities are unnecessary and “noise”. The class also provides proven tools for how to better prioritize what needs to be worked on for improved productivity and output for both their work life but also their everyday activities. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, this training aims to empower employees to expand their tool box with additional proven tools and techniques to help the student prioritize and make better decisions during the daily routine, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction.

5S Basics

Training topics include: A basic foundation for understanding and developing plans for implementing 5S for any level of employee in any size organization. 5S is an organized approach for enhancing or improving a work station, cell, and overall business activity. It is the first steps for an organization to work towards a LEAN Enterprise Business focused on continuous improvement and overall business success. Using practical approaches to develop plans and methodologies this course provides students with a basic understanding of the 5S’s along with opportunities for how to implement it in their job improving the business environment.

Advanced 5S-Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, & Sustain

Training topics include: developing a higher level of understanding of continuous improvement tools used for LEAN Principles and Six Sigma type applications. The training expands and enhances the basic PDCA cycle to a more in-depth analysis using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology utilizing new techniques including Project Charters, a variety of Control Charts, Fishbone Diagram (cause/effect diagram), FMEA Templates (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), and Value Stream Mapping. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, this training aims to empower employees to expand their tool box with additional proven tools and techniques to motivate and inspire teamwork, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction.

Aerospace Quality System Management: AS 9100

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining an AS 9100: Quality Management System (QMS).  The course provides the QMS Fundamentals introducing the structure requirements, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, and the “process approach” to form an integrating solid business system.  While the AS 9100 standard is based on the ISO 9001 clause requirements and structures which will be covered in the course (refer to QMS ISO 9001 – General for a description), providing greater focus on additional requirements specified for the Aerospace and Defense focus in areas such as Supplier Flow-Down and Management, Process Controls, and Corrective Action Flow-Down.  Additional emphasis will be provided in developing risk assessment and mitigation focus, understanding product safety requirements, configuration management, FOD/counterfeit parts, and material/product traceability that are required to be compliant with the Aerospace and Defense Sectors.

AS 9100/ISO9001 Ethical Quality Awareness and Training

This actionable course aligns with AS 9100 and ISO 9001 compliance specifically satisfying awareness requirements regarding product safety, product conformity, nonconforming control, and ethical behavior of the organization. The focus provides a foundational approach to ethical behavior ensuring Management Leadership is committed to support and promote cultural and human factors dictating process integrity. The emphasis promotes ethical practices for daily decision making, company policies, company objectives, and ensuring every employee understand their direct contribution to product conformity. Key areas for compliance include: 1. awareness and control of customer drawing and intellectual property focusing on ethical handling, storage, and restricted distribution of customer-owned intellectual property and drawings for parts and materials including distribution to suppliers; 2. control of conforming and non-conforming material defining protocols to indentify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials and products ethically without hiding discrepancies; 3. control and management of scrap materials and products focusing and preventing unethical re-entry of scrapped or rejected materials and products back into the usable inventory or supply chain; 4. material awareness and handling of counterfeit parts ensuring proper understanding of counterfeit parts including the detection, avoidance, and reporting mechanisms to mitigate the risk of purchasing and receiving counterfeit parts; 5. FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Prevention and Product Safety integrating FOD awareness and strict product safety standards as ethical obligations to protect operational integrity and end-user safety.

ACSM APICS – Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Training topics include: a focused approach to understanding busines continuity from organizational business decisions including long, medium, and short-term planning for successful integration of the Sales and Operations throughout the Supply Chain. The program equips business analysts, planners, schedulers, business managers, and operational leaders with critical expertise needed to strealine production, manage inventory investments, and enhance demand forecasting. Students will master core concepts in strategic organizational planning, capacity planning, materials management, and operation alignment to maximize overall business efficiency. The outline emphasizes the course requirements to achieve the Certification in Planning and Inventory Management emphasizing the integration of the business. This integration includes the overall business from strategic planning to sales forecasting to operational planning including resource planning and material requirements planning using analytical tools required to drive cost-effective, high-performing internal workflows. The end goal is to pass the APICS CPIM exam.

Automotive Quality System Management: IATF 16949

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining an IATF 16949A AS 9100: Quality Management System (QMS).  The course provides the QMS Fundamentals introducing the structure requirements, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, and the “process approach” to form an integrating solid business system.  ISO 9001 clause requirements and structures which will be covered in the course (refer to QMS ISO 9001 – General for a description), providing greater focus on additional requirements specified for the Automotive focus in areas such as defect prevention, risk reduction, and the supply chain.  Additional emphasis is focused on leadership ethical behavior and ownership, contingency planning, product safety, competency and training plans, special characteristic requirements, Supplier Management, Traceability of products/materials, and AIAG Core Tools.

Environmental System Management: EMS ISO 14001

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining an ISO 14001: Environmental Management System (EMS).  The course provides the EMS Fundamentals introducing the structure requirements, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, involvement top management-backed environmental system defining policy requirements, register of environmental impacts, legal compliance, regular internal audits, and external audit.  Focus areas will include leadership commitment with clearly defined roles supporting environmental controls, responsibilities, and authorities within the organization.  How to generate basic requirements such as aspect and impacts of products and service on the environment and how the organization manages the impact on the environment.  Compliance obligations to local, state, and federal regulations and laws that are applicable to the operation.  Final review will include performance of the defined activities for compliance and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System. 

General Quality System Management: ISO 9001

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining an ISO 9001: Quality Management System (QMS).  The course provides the QMS Fundamentals introducing the structure requirements, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, and the “process approach” to form an integrating solid business system.  The ISO 9001 clause requirements and structures will be covered in the course providing requirements Leadership, Management Objectives and Focus, Management Review and Operational Controls for the system implementation.  Additional emphasis will be provided in developing risk assessment and mitigation focus, understanding product safety requirements and material/product traceability that are required to be compliant with the General Business Sectors.

ISO/AS/IATF/EMS Internal Auditor Training

Training Topics include: a brief core conceptual understanding of the appropriate standard (ISO, AS, IATF, or EMS) will be provided explaining briefly the sections for the standard (students need to have a foundational understanding of the appropriate standard or take the appropriate class listed in core descriptions for better understanding of the requirements refer to Quality/Environmental System Management). The course is designed for quality managers/leaders/supervisors, compliance professionals, and aspiring auditors reinforcing a balance classroom of both instructional and hands-on activities. Students will gain competence in evaluating process controls, indentify non-conformities, and drive continual improvement within the organization. Key focus will be in planning, preparing, and executing a process-based internal audit using non-threatening interview techniques and objectively evaluating evidence. Additional focus will include writing factual, value-added non-conformity reports to assist the organization to improve compliance to the standard while continuously improving the overall business. This intensive, classroom-based course blends interactive lecture with live group excercises and mock audit scenarios. Students will learn to navigate the audit lifecyle-from initial planning to assist in verifying corrective actions.

ISO/AS/IATF/EMS Internal Lead Auditor Training

This course is a continuation of the Internal Auditor Training or Special Process Internal Auditor Training for Aerospace or Medical Devices providing additional training for audit scheduling, auditor selection, audit management, audit process including operning/closing meeting, audit final report, audit findings review and verification, and audit closure. Key focus will be on developing a published audit schedule for compliance to the standard, auditor selection and management while the audit is being performed ensuring competency of the auditors, final reports of compliance, opportunities for improvement, as well as non-compliance issues to the management team, and final wrap-up and verification of the audit findings as well as closure of each audit report and the annual audit completion.

Kaizen Events-Basic Blitz Planning

Training topics include learning and using proven Kaizen Blitz methods such as Gemba walks, quick-win identification, and standard work. This course is designed for all levels of employees in a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, and administrative office activities looking to eliminate waste, optimize workflows, and drive immediate operational change.  The training will use Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle to help guide participants into developing and implementing Kaizen Blitz Events for process evaluation and improvement moving from current state to future state.  The class features hands-on experiences and opportunities to work both individually and as a team allowing for a basic structure and planning for a solid approach implementing successful blitz events throughout the business.

Kaizen Events-Advance Implementation

Training topics include expanding the Basic Planning for Kaizen to the implementation activities to fully implement a driven Kaizen system for the orgnization.  Focused on real-life business opportunities and processes, participants will analyze a comprehensive, multi-industry Kaizen event plan to master the structured timeline of an improvement activity. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, this training aims to empower employees to expand their tool box with additional deployment frameworks to cross-functionally collaborate, accelerate problem-solving, and foster a lasting culture of continuous improvement.  The training will focus on linking Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) combined with Risk Evaluation/Mitigation providing a foundational focus for develop Kaizen activities to support Organization Goals.   

Lean Basics

The training uses PDCA cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act) with hands-on experiences and opportunities to work both individually and as a team focused on real-life business opportunities and processes. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, this training aims to empower employees to expand their tool box with additional proven tools and techniques to motivate and inspire teamwork, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction.

Lean Advanced

MedAccred Special Process Accreditation (Medical Devices)

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining a MedAccred Accreditation for “Special Processing”.  The course will provide a basic understanding and focus on a “Special Process” as defined by the Medical Device Sectors.  The focus will be on technical execution and testing for understanding MedAccred Checklists, technical parameters, equipment calibration, operator competency, and strict recipe adherence.  The class will discuss how to utilize and combine requirements of ISO 13485 and incorporate compliance to MedAccred requirement for appropriate “Special Process”.  Emphasis in “Special Processing” will be in Heat Treat, Electronics, Plastics, and Weldings but the class will focus on the compliance to the Nadcap Accreditation process more than it will focus on the technical application for each process including initiating the process for accreditation request, working through the checklist retrieval and review, completing a MedAccred Checklist, managing the MedAccred Auditor, and responding to MedAccred Findings for closure.  

Medical Quality System Management: ISO 13485 (Medical Devices)

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining an ISO 13485: Quality Management System (QMS) for Medical Devices. The course provides the QMS Fundamentals introducing the structure requirements, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, and the “process approach” to form an integrating solid business system. Using the informaton requirements defined in the ISO 13485, the focus will be on organizational context and leadership to risk management and operational planning. The key focus output will be how to interpret and apply the ISO 13485 requirements. Additional topics will include Leadership Responsibilities, Competency, Support Function, and Operational activities within the business. The course will provide both performance evaluation and improvement requirements as defined by the ISO standard.

Nadcap-Special Process Accreditation (Aerospace)

Training Topics include: A basic explanation of requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining a Nadcap Accreditation for “Special Processing”.  The course will provide a basic understanding and focus on a “Special Process” as defined by the Aerospace and Defense Sectors.  The focus will be on technical execution and testing for understanding Nadcap Checklists, technical parameters, equipment calibration, operator competency, and strict recipe adherence.  The class will discuss how to utilize and combine requirements of AS 9100 and incorporate compliance to Nadcap requirement for appropriate “Special Process”.  Emphasis in “Special Processing” will be in Heat Treat, Non-destructive Testing (NDT), Chemical Processing, and Coatings but the class will focus on the compliance to the Nadcap Accreditation process more than it will focus on the technical application for each process including initiating the process for accreditation request, working through the checklist retrieval and review, completing a Nadcap Checklist, managing the Nadcap Auditor, and responding to Nadcap Findings for closure.  

Quality Systems Management-Corrective Action Request (CAR)

Training Topics include: understanding the basic steps for responding to a Corrective Action Request (CAR) when requested by customer, audit, performance issue, or other problem occurs in a business.  Utilizing two different methods for CAR Responses depending on the severity and formality of the request.  Both incorporate basic Problem-Solving Techniques standard for CAR by identification of the problem, immediate containment, root cause analysis, and verification.  Students will discover when, and why to select the appropriate method for response to a CAR and how to complete each of them for improved processes and greater customer satisfaction.

Special Process Internal Auditing Training

Training Topics include: a brief core conceptual understanding of the appropriate standard (Nadcap and MedAccred) will be provided explaining briefly the sections for the standard (students need to have a foundational understanding of the appropriate requirements or take the appropriate class listed in core descriptions for better understanding of the requirements refer to Nadcap or MedAccred Process Accreditation).  The course is designed for quality managers/leaders/supervisors, compliance professionals, and aspiring auditors reinforcing a balance classroom of both instructional and hands-on activities.  Students will gain competence in evaluating Special Process Audit Checkslists, indentify non-conformities, and drive for compliance to the Special Process Standards defined by the Checklists and Customers.   Key focus will be in planning, preparing, and executing a checklist-based internal audit using non-threatening interview techniques and objectively evaluating evidence.  Additional focus will include completing factual checklists to ensure the organization is compliant to the requirements in preparation for the external audit.  This intensive, classroom-based course blends interactive lecture, checklist review, live group excercises, and mock audit scenarios.  Students will learn to navigate the audit lifecyle-from initial planning to assist in verifying corrections to be compliant to the checklists.

The Basics of Failure Mode and Analysis (FMEA)

This course will teach the skills to understand and use FMEA’s to provide risk identification, recognition, and assist in prevention of defects. Establish the foundation of key process aspects and define what could go wrong (failure mode) with each of those processes. Then take those failure modes and numerically define those in regard to risk and the impact they may have on the finished product/ process. Turn quality control around when you discover the impact of failure and how you can reduce the risk with FMEA. Then, take your skills and knowledge beyond the concepts by learning the specifics of successfully developing and maintaining both design and process FMEA’s for your organization.

Value Stream Mapping (VSM)

Training Topics include: understanding the development and purpose of the value stream of an organization.  Utilizing a base of SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer) this course will introduce students to the basics of value stream mapping including benefits, key terminology, and standard techniques providing an understanding of current state and future state of the process.  Students will discover how powerful the comparison of current and future state mapping can be to identify sources of wastes within a process.  Learn how to use value-stream mapping to create “blueprints” for applying other techniques such as Kaizen Events most effectively.
