First Flight New Student Orientation (NSO) is all about helping you get comfortable and ready for your first day of classes. It’s designed to introduce you to the culture at 91ԭƬ and provide you with all the resources necessary for a successful college experience!

What to expect at First Flight New Student Orientation


  • First Flight Welcome Session: You’ll meet 91ԭƬ administration and staff; learn about important college policies, keys to student success, session host introductions and more.   
  • Student Technology Sessions: In a small tech lab setting, students will learn how to login to My91ԭƬ, student email, Canvass and more.   
  • Student Break Sessions: In small classroom settings, students will be introduced to campus resources for success.  Library, Learning Center, Financial Aid, TRiO, Wellness, Campus Life, and more. 
  • Parent/ Guardian/ Supporter Sessions: These sessions are designed to introduce parents/guardians/supporters to campus resources. TRiO, Bookstore, Wellness/Access, Financial Aid and more. 
  • Falcon Fair: Meet campus representatives from student clubs and organizations, important offices and other student services that can support you during your time at 91ԭƬ. 
  • Campus Tours- Take a tour to get familiar with important locations around campus. 
  • Faculty Office Hours: Select faculty will be on campus during NSO hosting office hours for you to visit.  
  • Lunch at the Dive- Registered students will receive a voucher for a free meal at the Dive during NSO.  Families and supporters can purchase lunch. Vegetarian options available.  
  • Student Services Check: In: The Student Services Center will be open for student to meet with an advisor, get their photo ID, payments and more  
  • Visit the Bookstore: While you’re on campus, head down to the bookstore and get your class materials for the semester.

How do I confirm my attendance at NSO and sign up for Breakout sessions?


All registered students will receive an email about two weeks prior to NSO with links to RSVP to the event and to sign up for breakout sessions. Make sure to RSVP so you can join in on this exciting and helpful event!

Is New Student Orientation required?

YesNew Student Orientation is a required event for all first-time 91ԭƬ students.

How long does it last?

New Student Orientation will usually run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During this time, you’ll participate in a variety of activities designed to help you get ready for your first semester. A detailed schedule will be sent to you prior to your orientation date so you’ll know exactly what to expect and can make the most of your day.

How do I switch orientation dates?

Contact your advisor to change your schedule.

Can I bring my parents/ family/ supporters with me to NSO?

Yes, you are welcome to bring guests. There are sessions tailored for parents, families, and supporters. 

Should I bring anything with me to New Student Orientation?

  • A copy of your schedule-found on My 91ԭƬ
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing
  • A complete guide of what to bring will be sent to the students prior to NSO

Will there be food?

Yes, there will be light refreshments in the morning and then the DIVE (91ԭƬ Cafe) will have lunch options available.
